Remember the plastic lipsticks and such when we were kids? Well now-a-days all they have is this glittery, stinky, dyed Vaseline crap. I'd rather let my baby eat 1/2 a Lip Smacker than allow her to put that cheapy junk on her face. Seriously..what is in that? Gross.
Anyway, I came up with a solution (aka..googled) and this is the result:

Don't you love how I used all the colors of the rainbow so it can also be used as a color teaching tool? Always sneaking that educational aspect in. Or maybe I just thought it looked more pleasing to the eye? I'll never tell...
But I will tell you how I did it in 3 easy steps:
1. Find an old make-up item (I used an old eyeshadow container) and clean it out with soap and water.
2. Pour in old nail polish. (I seriously have a rainbow of colors because Ms. Thang loves decorative nails) Be careful not to pour the mixing bead in.
3. Let it dry for 24hours (it shrinks down to about 1/2 of what you pour so you may need to add more later)
That's all there is to it! I don't suggest doing this with the kids because it STINKS so keep that in mind when you pick a spot to start this project, and also because it takes a full 24 hours to dry and your kids will want to play with it NOW.
I'm going to do more of these soon. A blush with a pink polish and a foundation powder with a nude polish. Any ideas on how to make a fake lipstick?
That is a great idea...I love it!
